Handmade Digital is led by Carlos Guevara, a designer and UI engineer who has been building for the web since 2013. He started with logos and print work for local shops, founded a small design studio, then spent years at agencies building online stores for brands across the US, getting certified on Shopify and Magento along the way.

Most recently he spent over two years at Apple as a UI Engineer on the AskApple team, working on the chat customers use to reach Apple and building internal tools for other engineers. Today Handmade Digital runs as a small team with Carlos as lead engineer: he’s the person you’ll talk to, the one directing the work, and the final set of eyes on everything that ships.

  1. 2013

    Design roots

    Logos, print, and WordPress sites for local businesses at Contour Graphics.

  2. 2014

    First studio

    Founded The Good Life Designs: full websites, brand identities, and marketing material, end to end, for small businesses.

  3. 2015

    The agency years

    Design, product photography, and conversion-focused builds at Adgo, working alongside SEO and paid-search specialists.

  4. 2017

    E-commerce at scale

    Shopify Plus and Magento builds at Gauge Interactive. Certified on both platforms. Built an interactive catalog app running on 55-inch touchscreens in retail stores across the US.

  5. 2019

    Independent, again

    Three years with The Monroe Institute. When COVID closed their retreat campus, we built and launched their virtual retreat platform in about six weeks. Plus Shopify Plus builds for brands like SNOW.

  6. 2022

    Apple

    UI Engineer on the AskApple team. Frontend work on the chat customers use to reach Apple, plus internal tools built with Vue.js, MongoDB, and REST APIs.

  7. Today

    Handmade Digital

    Handmade Digital, based in Weston, Florida. All of the above, now working for small businesses across South Florida and beyond.
